My Final Major Project was based upon Welsh folklore called The Lady of the Fountain which is part of the famous Mabinogion collection of stories.

The costumes were made to the specification required for a Medieval TV Fantasy Drama retelling the magical and mythical tale.

 

The four characters are King Arthur, Owain (a knight of the round table), The Countess, and Luned the Countess' Maid. The design for the costumes were taken from a variety of sources including Alan Lee's illustrations from the book 'The Mabinogion' by Lady Charlotte Guest, Medieval tapestries and artwork.

Skills showcased throughout this work include; print, embroidery, breakdown, hand stitching, fabric & trim sourcing, pattern cutting & historical research.
